WEDNESDAY, Feb. 13

A judge refusing to drop criminal charges against the Narragansset Indians who allegedly sparred with police during a 2003 raid on their smoke shop. Superior Court Judge Susan McGuirl blasting prosecutors Tuesday for not turning over important police documents right away. The trial expected to start Feb 25.

Senator John McCain set to stop in the Ocean State Thursday. The Republican presidential candidate will attend an afternoon rally at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick.

Supreme Court Justice John Roberts in Providence Tuesday, marking the 100th anniversary of the federal courthouse. It’s the first time in more than 200 years a sitting justice has visited the state on official business.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama winning big in Tuesday’s primaries, topping Hillary Clinton in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Clinton is said to be banking on victories in Ohio and Texas next month to strengthen her campaign. Republican frontrunner McCain beating former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee in all three contests.

Scripted TV and movie fans, rejoice. Hollywood writers are back to work today after the Writers Guild of America announced an end to its three-month strike.
